Strategic Gap Analysis – Part of Our Lean TQM Toolbox Series

Strategic Gap Analysis – Part of Our Lean TQM Toolbox Series

The Problem: You want to grow your business, but you are not sure where or how to allocate resources to make it happen. Or you already developed your strategy some time ago, but it just doesn’t seem to be delivering the results you expected.

A strategy is a living thing, it needs to be constantly monitored and measured to ensure everything is on track. So it should be revised at least once per year, or when a particularly disruptive event impacts your market, to identify and assess new opportunities, pinpoint and fix problems, and to reveal and prevent future problems and issues.

A Strategic Gap Analysis assesses where you are against where you would like to be (between Current State and Desired State) and identifies how you can close the gap.

It’s a wonderfully versatile tool, as it can be conducted on a Strategic or Operational level, and can be used to focus on one process or issue, or it can be used on the entire organisation.

We have partnered with our sister organisation, the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics (ASCAL) Institute to bring you another tool in our Lean-TQM Toolbox Series. Click the link for a simple step-by-step process brief.
